window sounds like its rubbing
Ok so its happened quite a few times now where i roll my windows down and it squeals pretty loud. I tried just cleaning the black guard piece at the bottom, sorry don't have a clue what its called. Today now I noticed a scratch about an inch and a half long vertical on my passenger window. I took it to my dealer and they said its not a warranty issue and there really is no fix for it.
Anyone have this issue or have ideas about how to rectify it? |

That's BS they said it's not a warranty issue and no fix. I would fight that, try speaking to a manager. It's a brand new car EVERYTHING should be covered under warranty as long as you, yourself didnt cause the problem to begin w/. |

If you have TechStream there is a setting in there to "automatically recalibrate" the window alignment. Didn't work for me, but might for someone else. |

I have that squeal, i just never knew what it was. and yeah, i can see the marks on the window where it glides but are only visible at night. dont know how to fix it. My FRS is 3 months old 2k miles and its making this noise from the window. Are you serious that the dealer won't fix it?!?!?!

Someone did a writeup at one point on what part of the track specifically is too tight and how to potentially DIY fix it, but I can't seem to locate it. :\ I have two separate 1.5" wide streaks up both windows. It only squeals if it's wet out, but can definitely see the lines.
Unfortunately I think this is another issue where we just have to wait. Eventually the manufacturer will be forced to acknowledge it as a problem and provide a solution. Just frustrating that all of our issues seem to be met with the "this isn't a problem" attitude for six months. |

I have the same exact issue. Rubbing issues. Window makes noise. Driver side that is. My solution...silicone spray on the rubber trimming so the window can nicely slide up because it was getting caught. Quick fix until I take my car back to the dealership for more warranty issues. I've taken my car in more times into the dealership for warranty issues than I've had any of my previous 21 cars owned before. :/

There were multiple threads about this problem. The felt pads on the inside of the door are coming off and scratching your window. It IS a warranty issue and has been fixed by many other dealers.

Has anyone had this cause an issue with tint? I've started to notice this and am afraid that this will scratch or mess up tint in another way if i get it applied.
