Mothers and Meguiers

Thoughts on the quality of these products? Seems to be the best stuff I can buy locally.

What brands do you guys recommend?

For the price I prefer the Mothers. I've been using it for some 20+ years now. Pinnacle is my favorite but costs 4 times as much.

Should say that Meguiars products are also very good for the price. I use several of their products as well.

Autogeek has a bunch of info on the various methods and products. Check it out. You'll also get a million opinions here, find a method and products you like and enjoy giving your car its TLC.

You could never go wrong with Mothers. I have used and still do use a long line of products. From the cleaning soap, wax to the interior detailing products they always have something that works amazing.
Mothers is well established and maybe people swear by it.
I one for mothers.

Mothers makes good stuff for the consumer market. Megs makes everything from okay stuff for the consumer market to great stuff for professionals and everything inbetween. All in all they're really not on the same playing field.

Of the stuff you can buy at Pepboys, Mothers, Megs, and Surf City Garage are probably the best bets. Particularly the "ultimate" line of stuff from Megs.

I have a bunch of Meguiar's Ultimate stuff, including the polish and compound that I use with my Griot's Garage ROP. Can't complain about it one bit.

what are you trying to do? Polish, compound, wash, clean glass.......

I personally really like Meguiars, but not all there stuff. 3D also makes some really nice products.

Many of the companies mentioned are just rebottlers of a cheaper verison sold at a higher price with cute labels so you will pay more.

Cheers,
GREG

I saw them using Meguiars are the Blackhawk Museum on 10 million dollar collector cars, so I assume it's pretty good.

Going to keep an eye on Maguiers and Mothers products and try them out as they go on sale at Canadian Tire.

I went to buy cleaning products the other day and I went with Meguires. I've been using them for 6 years. I was thinking about getting Mothers this time around, but I passed. Maybe next time...

I've used a few Mother's products over the years and don't have anything bad to say about the company, but most of my car cleaning supplies come from Meguiars (and a few from Griots). I started out with the maroon bottle stuff, which is pretty much their entry level consumer line, but have moved on from that. I use a lot of their Pro line (tan bottle) products, as well as some of their Ultimate and Gold Class and NXT lines.
