Upgraded fuel lines?
A poor Miata met its fiery end this weekend at the drivers edge event in Houston, from what I heard it was a fuel fire in the engine bay.
While our cars hoses/lines are obviously new now, is it worth investing in some better fuel lines to prevent such an issue with our cars? As hot as they run at the track, what can be done to prevent these sorts or things?

It was probably what you're proposing that caused that car to burn. Manufacturer fuel lines rarely have a problem.

certainly possible, but the Miata looked pretty stock (still had the stock wheels). It was a 3rd gen miata (NC) so I'm guessing it hadn't been totally rebuilt into a spec race car given its age.
Usually when I see miatas at the track, they are highly modified and its obvious from the wheels, tires, suspension drop etc....

Since it happens so rarely, a fuel related fire is more likely caused by some freak anomaly specific to that car (the line could have been damaged during some previous repair, or abnormlly rotted, or replaced improperly at some point).

I bet one of those cheap ebay adjustable fuel pressure regs with bling bling gauge was the cause. Or whoever installed it.
