In japan. what to check out?

hey everyone im in japan right now and want to experience the car scene in japan. any brz/gt86/frs stuff to check out? aftermarket parts stores? touge races? stuff like the things you see in f&f tokyo drift? (a real parking lot race would be cool) just general JDM stuff

for parts, you can try out UP garage: http://www.upgarage.com/ , they have a lot of locations around. should be able to find some goodies there, not sure how much used stuff will be there for the 86 specifically though. have fun!

What part of Japan are you in? If you're in Tokyo, try to head over to Toyota Megaweb in Odaiba. You can get there via monorail from Shinbashi station. They have several 86 to see, including a TRD version. Not sure if you have an international driver's permit, but if you do, you can ask your hotel to call ahead and set you up with an appointment to test drive the 86. Highly recommend this, as you'll have to wait hours if you go with no appointment.

Shinkansen to Nagoya, Toyota Museum and plant tour. Reserve ahead, worth your time.

As far as cars go, Daikoku Futo PA at night is pretty cool but you'll need friends with a car or a taxi to get there. Toyota Megaweb in Odaiba. Definitely hit up Upgarage and Super Autobacs. Search online for any local events/car shows also. When I was living in Japan, you would see a fixed up car every 5-10 mins. It was awesome

Go to the Daikoku PA for the parking lot stuff. Get an international drivers permit from AAA, rent an 86, then head north to Mt. Haruna or Nikko.
