Swapping springs need HELP!

Okay, I have bc racing br coilovers and I have the 8k spring rates. I wanted to buy lower spring rates, roughly 4-5k, and I was wondering what the specs were for the standard bc br springs, so I could get the correct springs that will fit.

Also, since I am changing out the springs to one that is considerably different, so do I need to get the shocks revalved? And if so, can I do this myself or do I need to take it to a shop?

If anyone can help, thanks a bunch.

Watch your spring rates vs your ride height, too low with too soft of a spring will have you bottomed out all the time over the slightest bump and isn't good for the shock.

The dampers *probably* are not valved for springs that soft, so you may end up way underdamped on compression and way overdamped for rebound.

Are you just trying to get a softer, more comfortable ride?

Well, I can adjust the ride height, so that isn't a problem. The only thing that would worry me is the dampers and the amount of travel in the spring, but as it now with the 8k springs I don't need to worry about the amount of travel. All that is left is the dampers.

Yea, trying to get a softer more comfortable ride.

If worse comes to worse I'll just get 6k. I know on the bc website they said that it is fine to go 10k on the dampers that were valved for 8k. So, I'm assuming it would be + or - 2k.

But seriously, can someone give me the specs on the springs?? I can't find it anywhere.

Oh btw, can anyone let me know where I can just purchase the swift springs for my coilovers? I know they offer it as an option, but I never see it offered alone, so I don't know where to get em.

Thanks.

i called swift springs the other day and they told me the fronts are 5" and the rears are 6" and both 65mm.

the softest spring swift has in 5" is 10k rate, but i swear i saw a FS thread where someone was selling a BC setup with 5k swift springs front and rear.

So, just to make sure, these are the specs for the replacement on the bc br coilovers?

I've finally give up on my quest for lower spring rates on the bc br. I'm just going to get softer/lower springs on my stock suspension. GL on your search.
