Arlington/FT Worth area relocation

So I'm considering a relocation to the Arlington/Ft Worth area. Can anyone tell me the good, bad, and ugly? Where to live? Any issues with mods and dmv? What you like/dislike? If anyone is a nurse or has a spouse that is a nurse, wondering what the job market is like (for the Mrs.)

no issues with mods except from dealers. Arlington and ft worth has some bad areas but depends on your definition of bad.

Hey man welcome to the Arlington, TX area! I just recently moved myself and am a student at UTA. I live close to the university and pretty much the apartments around there are nice and a clean area to be at. I haven't had the time to explore the city much but I'm sure there are other nice areas also. I know there are other members that live in this particular area that probably have more experience than me and can guide you or better answer your questions.

I live in Grand Prairie, but I've worked in Fort Worth for the past 8 years. The cultural district in Fort Worth has grown by leaps and bounds in the last couple of years and the apartments in the 7th street area are really nice if you don't mind paying $1100 for a one bedroom or $1600 for a 2 bedroom. Depending on if you guys have kids or not, that are is a lot of fun, near to is restaurants/bars/stockyards and museums, zoo, botanic gardens. I have a cousin who is a pediatric nurse in the Arlington area, but I've always thought the job market has always been in need of nurses so I doubt it would be a problem for your wife to find a job.

My office is Arlington. Wife is kinda looking at Baylor for a job, so figure FT Worth is central. I have not idea about traffic. We have 2 dogs, no kids so a house w/ yard is a must. I know property is cheap but want to rent till we figure things out. Our dogs are 2 pits so hopefully the city is not ignorant to the breed. Any good tune shop, still need a SC installed

Arlington highlands has a lot of restaurants and many other things. I have friends who are in nursing so my only assumption is that the demand is high here but don't take my word for it. Tuning shop for the FRS/BRZ only one i know that is highly recommended by everyone is AWDtuning in Flowermound, TX

It depends on where you go in Arlington. We are building our new house in Grand Prairie/Mansfield area. Depends if you want a house or apartment.

Sorry to get off subject, but have you ever had any problems with people messing with your car at UTA? I'll be back there in August and considering paying for a parking garage pass. Still really crowded but at least there's cameras in there.

My g/f of 4 years graduated from TCU with her BSN and works in the HCA system. Here's my background:

Grew up in Bedford
Went to high school in Euless
Graduated from UTA May '12, lived on campus my senior year with a 600hp Evo IX
Lived in west fort worth
Lived in north fort worth
Working in downtown Dallas now, moving here in August
Going to school at SMU in August.

My thoughts: Living in fort worth or arlington is pretty hit or miss. I'd have to show you a map of where to look and not to look. Stay away from Haltom City. Hurst/Euless/Bedford are all great places if you're looking to get into a house. Grapevine/Colleyville/Southlake/Keller are almost always a safe bet.

Ask me anything.

This is all pretty spot on, there's pockets of really bad spots in Ft. Worth and Arlington. I lived just north of 30 in Arlington while I went to UTA and had no issues. Currently live in North Ft Worth and it's been alright as well.
