Idea to fix double din dash piece
I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, if so im sorry, just ignore this. I was thinking about a way to solve the spacers issue, the one on either side of aftermarket double din head units. They don't look very clean. What if we could 3D scan in the radio dash piece. Then in software go in and narrow the cut out area to match a double din aftermarket radio. At that point print it out using the new 3D printer thing. You could cover it, along with the dash piece above the passenger side glove box, with matching 3M carbon fiber vinyl. If several of us pooled our cash we might be able to get it done for cheap. Order a bunch of copies. Just an idea.
