Has anyone else named their car?

I was reluctant at first, thought it was stupid... then one day, it hit me that my car is frankenstein's monster because it's put together from pieces, it's ugly, and I brought it back to life..
It just seemed right to call her Franky.

Has anyone else named their car? If so, what name?

just hachi. It started out as "the hachi" whenever I would talk about it and then eventually just went to hachi.

Her nickname is Hachi-Broke-u. It could mean she broke your spirit!!! RAWRRR!! Actually, it just means she's usually broke, and/or is causing me to stay broke.

I don't, but my brother named my Impreza the Red Charisma. Why Red Charisma? IDK, only thing I know is he was reference to Char from Gundam.

Yes... it's hella cliche, but I call her Eleanor... Gone in 60 second was one of my favorite movies when I was younger.

That sounds like a very Japanese nickname.

Do you name your cars?

I never did, beyond a short-hand of what the car was, until recently when a friend named one of my cars and it stuck. Now I name all of them.

My 86 Corolla was dubbed "Takumi" for obvious reasons.

Then my 07 STI became "Grip" because of the plate I chose.

The 03 WRX then became "Grip Jr" and was shortened to "Junior"

My 07 Legacy spec.B I named "Cruiser"

And my '91 Ambulance tow vehicle is named "Tug"

My BRZ will be named "Ghost" due to it's dark look, and ability to slip through traffic easily.

So, am I the only nutjob here? If not, what names have you given your cars? And what do you plan to name your BRZ/FR-S/GT-86?

Yes, I always have. The current "fleet" is named after the characters on the old TV show Reba. You might have to know the show to understand some of the references.

Mustang Convertible (red): Reba (for obvous reasons)
Chevy Astro: Barbara Jean (cause shes just a big 'ol reliable girl)
Honda Accord: Kyra (driven by musician son who likes redheads/rockers)
Honda 919 (motorcycle): Cheyenne (if you have to ask...)

Unfortunately Barbara Jean (the Astro, not the character) died on me a couple of weeks ago.

Not sure what the FR-S will be called yet.
