Disappointed they didn't use their heavy foot to give feedback on handling.

1. Andrew was kind enough to let us borrow the car for a review and the last thing anyone wanted; was to damage the car in any way, shape or form. With that said we did do a lot of full throttle scenes and you can see them mostly in the stationary camera shots. 2. Unfortunately due to the fact that its very hard to capture speed and high speed acceleration on video it just doesn't appear that we are putting the foot to the floor. The opening shots of the video, that was full throttle in second gear, and you can barely tell because once again capturing speed on camera is very very difficult. We are working on it to try and create more entertaining episodes but like all things, it is a work in progress. Either way we just wanted to describe how awesome this car is and how for the money you really can't go wrong. Its a true drivers car! STi model would be SEXY AS HELL. Next weeks episode will be of the S2000 and we are directly comparing if your better off getting the S2000 due to its higher horsepower. We shoot it this weekend, so we will see. I am routing for the BRZ to be better I'm not really a Honda guy lol. |

It is a lot of fun to drive, and I truly believe that this is what Subaru was trying to create, a fun and enjoyable driving experience. A lot of people tell me that it disappoints them in the power category. and my only response to that is...Were you really expecting a lot of pep from a naturally aspirated flat 4 cylinder, pumping out 200hp? I could understand if it was 2.0 Turbo, then yea, you can have certain expectations for power. In all fairness I think the engine is fine as long as you stay in the power band and you are going through some nice s curves....every car has a purpose and this car really does serve it's purpose.

5:26 - NO, you cant do that to HID!
And also, the 370Z has the gear shifter indicator as well and theirs is direct and does not have the lag that the Subaru/Scion twin has.

Just letting you guys know...I recently did a review on the Honda S2000 and if you wanna see how it stacks up against the BRZ check it out on our YouTube channel. The moderators won't let me post the video here, I guess they view it as spam, even though the video is a comparison with the BRZ.

S2k suspension outdated? S2k has double wishbone, BRZ has struts.

Well double wishbone suspensions turn into a sloppy mess after 75k miles or less on rough roads, and replacing all the bushings is a much tougher job than changing DI seals. Most of the S2ks I test drove before settling on the FRS had dry-rotted or worn out suspension bushings. As much as I love a new doublewishbone suspension, I hate it after a few years on the backroads in my area. Probably too early to say the S2k is more mechanically sound. With the FRZ you can go grocery shopping (like paying taxes we all have to do it), while the S2k you just can't. Heavy Foot really says the BRZ needs an extra 30 hp and I agree that along with fixing the torque dip would be a huge improvement. People are reaching 230 bhp with just a tune, UEL header, and overpipe on the BRZ. And they are also eliminating the torque dip. With more and smoother low end torque the BRZ could be a better performer than the S2k for the street. I really wonder how this review would have gone with a tuned headered BRZ.

^ vs a tuned s2k? Do you have a tuned headered BRZ/FR-S to compare?
