Ultra Everdry on Exterior

This has been brought up a few times on other forums.

I was wondering if it would be possible to use everdry a a vehicle. Whether it be the wheels, underbody, calipers, paint, windshield.

DEMO VID
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=IPM8OR6W6WE"]The Official Ultra-Ever Dry Product Video - Superhydrophobic and oleophobic coating - YouTube[/ame]

I read this on another forum and it was taken from Ultra Everdry FAQ
"8. What color is the coating?
The standard product is a translucent white. We do not have a transparent formula at this time. Custom colors are available upon request, minimums may apply. It is recommended to try the coating in an inconspicuous area first if color is important."

Someone brought a good point about maybe plastidipping the car first on then applying this on top of it (would only really work if you want a white finish, but it says custom colours available)

I think that would work best and is a best possibility in making it happen.
It says the ultra everydry could come off with abbrassion or rubbing.
So if you were to get rock or dirt to hit the paint it would remove some of that everdry, if you had plastidip it may make it more notible on which area's have had some "abbrasion" and you can plastidip on top of that and then reapply everdry and you're good!

It also says that it can be removed with some of the chemicals in regular soaps an cleaners or even high pressure washers. People said because of this fact there is not point of using it. If you use everdry, all you really need is water anyways so that shouldn't matter too much.

One reason I can see it not working on paint/plastidip is because when the car is in motion, you have those small dust and debris in the air. Without knowing how much abbrassive force you need to take it off, a strong gust just air "containing small debris and dust" could take it off in one ride.

What do you guys think?

If they can make it durable, sure. But in it's current state... a waste because of it's short lifespan.

Maybe it might have some uses in the interior though.

Heard that it lasts up to 7 years on exterior/outdoor environment.

I based my statement based off of your first post:

If those aren't issues, than sure i'd give it a try. Otherwise, cleaning my car means i'll have to reapply the coating.
