Track Day Packing
Everything fits in the car, just as advertised, but just barely. Now I did take almost EVERYTHING (I think I left the kitchen sink at home) for this 3 day event as it had been a long time since I had been to the track and this was a new car.
This is looking into the trunk fully packed. This is looking through the passenger door with 3 wheels packed. It helps to load the wheels upside down so you can store items in them. This is looking through the driver's door fully packed. Note that the 4th wheel is on top of the 3rd on the passenger side. You can see the first of my expensive designer luggage here (299¢ at Ikea). The last photo shows my passenger seat. The box in the footwell holds fluids that need to stay upright and reasonable cool to prevent leaking. Designer luggage had t be squeezed to fit.

My first autox was a pretty rough ordeal. I had a passenger and didn't ever do a test fit till about midnight the night before. The drive was pretty uncomfortable. This week should be better though.

wow.. you carry a lot of stuff to the track..
if you stand the wheels up you should be able to fit all 4 tires in the backseat.

Nice Trailer!
I like the trailer, it solves a lot of problems and would be much safer. Did you make it yourself? Where did you buy your hitch?

Trailer was from Harbor Freight. They have one with 12" tires I would have rather bought but the local store didn't have one and it's $150 to ship. Fabbed the hitch with my dad over the weekend. kask2_6.0 is registered as a vendor and going to be selling them (with some revisions) so I'd hit him up if you're interested.

Here's mine from last year. Basically camping 3 days at the track. Yes, I still could look out the back window. Where are the tires, you ask? I had someone else haul them.

Ive started to strip out the whole trunk of the car - this lets you stack two wheels and tires up to 245mm wide on top of each other where the spare tire goes. If you've got those, and a jack and some tools in the car, why do you need the factory spare and factory tools?
I recently took the rear seats out (4 bolts in all) and gained even more room to haul stuff. |
