If you're gonna do the roof, do the whole thing. And it'll look better glossed as well.

Not sure why but Mr. Ts mohawk popped in my head when I saw this. As mentioned above the whole roof would look much less busy.

IMHO...I like this better than "the whole thing".

Do the whole roof and ditch the lettering on the trunk and it'll look really nice!

Like I said, the "lettering" is only temporary...Stickers that I had laying around. That spot looked "empty" & I didn't see the point in putting original back on....(Loden "86" Badges are due out in the next few weeks).

I don't like the way the "whole black roof" looks....it reminds me of getting a part at the salvage yard and not bothering to paint it to match.

Anyway, the reason that I did this, is to make my car different from the "stock look"............& since nobody else seems to like it....ALL THE BETTER!

No one else will want to copy it.

From the back it doesn't look too bad, but from the front it really accentuates the dip in the roof in an unappealing way. And with the mat black dip next to the glossy red it looks as if there was a red panel that used to be there and is now missing that would make the whole roof flush.

Just my 2 cents.

It looks good to me.
It looks good to my significant other.
We get a LOT of unsolicited compliments from strangers.

So I don't really care what you think, I am just showing what I did to personalize my 86.

Thats good that you and your significant other like it. Thats what matters. And thats good that you still like it despite my opinion/others, that would be bad if you stopped liking it! Ha. But when you show off what you did to your car your going to end up getting peoples opinion on what they think of it, good and bad. Just comes with the territory of showing off things

Don't think that the roof looks bad, at all. Actually, I'd been considering doing something similar with matte black on my raven FRS, and am a little surprised how much I like the pattern, even on the red gloss of the firestorm.

Thanks for sharing! As long as you like it that's all that matters. I am making some cosmetic mods to my FR-S and I am certain people will either love it or hate it.

Looks really good. I love the blacked out trunk area. Also, those 86 emblems look much better than the factory orig. Nice work!
