I think both cars are exceptional and are/were benchmarks in their time. Pretty remarkable to see the advances in design, materials, engineering and manufacturing in just seven years that make a 2013 $25,000 car outperform a 2006 $30,000+ ($37,000+ for a base 328i today) übercar from the recent past.

Exactly.....It is not just HP, but in everything else we beat it....Pricing is one great example

luxury sedan vs sports car... apple and oranges... it's like comparing the FR-S to my old Mustang GT... it would woop the FRS in any drag race for about the same money... and, since you're comparing a 7 year old car to the FR-s you can get a 2008 335 for less than an FRS which is a lot faster and luxurious...

And finally, you can get a 2002 M5 for like 16K and that is the ultimate in sports saloons... with over 400 HP
