Best Fog Light Suggestion for FRS?

So I am currently looking for some H11 bulbs for my fog lights and wondering what you guys suggest. From my research, I've learned that Yellow bulbs are the way to go in terms of functionality and White/Blue bulbs are just looks. I really want my fog lights to perform as fog lights and not just for cosmetic use. During my google searches, a lot of people go for PIAA Bulbs or Hella Bulbs. Hoping to hear some suggestions from you guys! Thanks!

That thread has a lot of information on installing the fog lights. I just need some suggestions on replacement of the stock bulbs on the fog lights from the Subaru outback housing.

Quick google search:

http://www.mydepots.com/index.php?ma...31&language=en

Ignore the marketing bs on the site and study the color range (temp chart); the bulbs with a higher output in lumens (generally white light) that won't overtax the stock harnesses is an ideal choice.

I'll leave the lighting/electrical experts to chime in about what they feel are proper volt/amp limits, and what the stock wiring harnesses and common aftermarket harnesses can handle...

***Just a word of caution, the brand of bulb can make a difference in longevity. I don't know a single person who has used the higher-output bulbs from sylvania and has not had to replace them after 8 or 9 months...

We always used PIAA stuff on our old truck we took off-roading and the bulbs/fog housings never gave us an issue.

Yea I've been looking at this PIAA Plasma Ion Yellow Halogen Light Bulbs for my fog lights. Some people suggest Nokya or other brands but I feel that going for a brand that is known for having great lights and that actually make a difference in hard to see road conditions. A lot of people on the forums like going with the color match of there headlights (6000k) or HID kits but I want a more functional use for the fog lights and not just looks.

And from my search also, some people say HID is bad for fog lights and some say they are good and brighter so mixed comment on these. Was going to go with 3000k HID Lights but not sure about it yet, still doing some research, maybe you could shine some light on this if you have any information on them. Thanks!

Looks like a few are going with the Nokya bulbs. Do they make an improvement on the road during certain weather conditions @indesign ? And could you provide some pictures? Thanks!

I ran Nokya bulbs in my BMW's fog lights for years with no problems. They seemed to throw more light on the road than the stock bulbs.

So since probably most of us run the Subaru Outback Fog Light housing and they are only rated to handle 55w bulbs max, I did some research and the Nyoka ones run at 80w, will going at a higher wattage output cause any damage to the fog lights/harness? Or any other damage for that mater?

Can you link the ones you're referring to? It's likely 55W actual as I came across this issue when buying mine. The image for mine showed 80W but reviewers cleared that up.

if you look at the picture of the packaging on yours though, it clearly says 55W. the package i got is the same as that one so i think you'll be ok.

or if you wanna play it safe, just order from amazon like i did. i bought them from the Mueller Motorwerks seller on amazon ($17.99).

edit: just saw on the racinglab website that the back of the bulb says 55W as well. so yea you'll be fine wherever you order from.
