Any experience with these tires???

hi, i just shot the gun on some rims and planning to buy tires. rims are same size all around but im going for a staggered tire setup ti fill the gap in the wheel well since im leaving it stock height. i found the size im looking for the CHEAPEST on discount tire direct. does any have experience the tires below?

size im getting is 225/45/18 fronts and 245/40/18 rears

Far be it from me to tell you what to do, but in my 30+ years of buying tires cheap tires are just that cheap. I didn't click your links but if you really want your car to be at it's best spend the $'s on quality tires.

Not sure why u wanna get these cheap tires... Tires are what makes single most significant difference with this car... Id get some decent street tires at least if you can't get something sticky.

Never go cheap on tires. Stick with reputable brands like Dunlop, Michelin, Continental, Pirelli, Goodyear, etc. It's far better to get inexpensive wheels with quality tires than expensive wheels with crap tires.

I just read all the reviews. None of these tires last long. Buying cheap ends up being more expensive.

I would recommend the Delinte D7 Thunder out of those options, they seem to last longer than he GT Radial and have a harder sidewall. It's an all season tire, but if you're going to do any type of track or spirited driving, just go with hankooks, they're not that much more expensive. I've only seen one review on amazon on the Delinte, but it sounds like that reviewer has other problems with his car. If you get them road force balanced they shouldn't give you problems.

i worked for years at discount tire. I would go with a cheap falken tire before any other cheap tire. IF you have a location near you i suggest stopping in and talking to one of the guys/girls that is working. Tell them your situation and what you want to spend. BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY they will work with you to get you in a safer tire than you can afford to buy cheap online. Trust me.

Those champiros actually have good reviews other than tread life... Some of the Cobalt SS guys have used them, and they're popular in Australia. I think I'm going to try a set and pray for the best, if not, then hey, I have confirmed experience and can steer people away.

if you want cheap buy sumitomo tires. They're priced cheap, and from what i hear work fairly well.

Sumitomos and Hankooks are good for the buck and reasonably within that price range.

I'll definitely be buying Hankooks on my next set of wheels next summer, but what the hell. Don't have the cash now, and at $82 a tire, I just bought some GT UHP1s. Initial impressions are quite good, though, as mentioned, I only expect to get about 8-10k miles outta them. Mounted and balanced with road hazard warranty bla bla bla I was at like 455 at discount tire. 225/45/17s. Wanted something meaty. Also, wet weather and snow traction is what I'm more interested in. I'm going to start another thread reviewing them by mileage if anyone is interested.

Initially they feel a lot like the Kumho Ecstas I had on the car for a bit. So good terminal grip, and progressively approaches the limit, but not quite the same for response as some other tires. Partly from taller sidewall, and part of it is I don't think the sidewalls are near as stiff as some. I am impressed so far though. Driving comfort has improved, as well as road noise.
