Should i swap my 2013 Toyota 86 for a 2012 Subaru BRZ?

A friend of a friend wants to swap me his 2012 Subaru BRZ for my 2013 Toyota 86.

My car is a white Toyota 86 GTS (top spec of Aus Toyota 86), has 1800kms, optioned with reverse sensors, front sensors, reverse camera and 8 years unlimited kms extended factory premium warranty, 2 years free servicing.

His car is a white Subaru BRZ, with specs exactly like the BRZ limited. Has 12,400kms. Standard 3 years warranty and 3 years free servicing. Paint protection, and interior protection.

I test drove his BRZ, and find it to be more enjoyable than the 86. The suspension feels a tad stiffer but not in the bumpy ride meaning, but like it feel the imperfections of the road a bit more, but you feel in more control of the road. The rear seems to not want to slide out as easily as the 86. The BRZ feels slower, but it was obviously because of a passenger. Both identical, apart from suspension and looks.

The guy wants to swap me plus 500 dollars my way, plus two OEM subaru oil filters and 12 quarts of castrol 0w20 oil.

I personally like the BRZ a bit more. I like the look of the BRZ more than the 86.

My girlfriend says dont swap its not a good deal. And she also has a orange 86 and wants us both to have 86's. My car has lower mileage than his and a lot more options, so that is swaying me to not swap.

The reason why he wants to swap is because he wanted to buy the 86 in the first place but the waiting list was too long, and the BRZ waiting list was significantly shorter. Nothing is wrong with his car. Has had a services already as well. Two oil changes with 0w20 Subaru Oil at 3000kms, and 0w20 castrol oil at 10000kms.

A part of me wants to swap, part of me doesn't.

Should i swap or not swap? Suggestions? Is there areas the BRZ is better? Areas where the 86 is better?

EDIT:
I called him for a swap of parts, and he said that would be "too much of a hassle" so I said if he doesn't want to swap parts, then no deal.
So then he uped his offer to 2.5k along with the oil and filters. And to get the car rego and insurance to my name, theres a transfer fee of $80 and existing insurance reprocessing fee of $30, that he said he will pay for. Would that be a better deal now?

To all the people that pm me asking if that is my partner on my avatar, yes that is her pulling a trollface haha... cracks me up everytime

I don't know. Do you want to swap? If so...you should. Otherwise you should not swap.

I want to swap because the BRZ looks better and suspension feels better.

I dont want to swap because mine has less mileage, is newer make and has more options.

Its a dilemma

I wouldn't do that. You're not coming out ahead financially on that deal and it's cake to replace the springs on your car with the ones from the BRZ anyway.

Just swap the springs between the too cars and you will have the handling you prefer. I wouldn't personally swap cause I like the look of the GT86 better (especially your GTS high-spec model or whatever you guys call it in Aus).

I can't find stock BRZ springs. Do you have a link?

I wouldn't bother no point in paying registration and all the hassle of changing insurance over etc.

Seems very silly and foolhearted on both parts to have gone out and bought the cars you both almost wanted, especially on your part, you optioned yours the way you wanted it it sounds like, and now you are gonna give alot of that up for???

Keep ypur car the GF sounds like the one who knows what is going on here.

Nope don't do it unless he puts in way more money like 10 percent of what you got it for cause the low kms and options are worth a lot more then 500

so instead of swapping cars, just swap all those parts with your friend. that way you keep your lower mileage motor and chassis.
