Do you have many car friends?

I am the only person I know who is actually into cars. In college I was part of a car club and met a lot of great people but since I have left that scene they have all dissapeared.

I was wondering, are we a dying breed or are my friends just lame?

When I talk about GT5 or how much I love my new tires on my miata they all just stare at me blankly or ask if I have COD5 yet.

most of my friends are into cars

but none of them are into driving, and most simply suck at it (i always drive in the backseat and try to just look to the side)

and unfortunately those people that i spend time at the racetrack are not really friends.

I can definitely relate!

In HS and college, lots of car guy friends, but it seemed as if they were more into the car for the sake of being "cool" or for girls, or just for the rush of it.

Now that I'm out of college, people my age that are also enthusiasts are few and far between. Most people grow up, and unless they have an deep love for mechanical things, they move on.

Most of my car friends ended up being some really fun Photographers I've shot with. Other than that--my car friends are about a handful of people who'd answer some of my questions and the rest are on this forum. Lol e-friends are quite helpful. Even though we fight with each other over things.

Arguing during a friendship is essentially saying we care, right?

My friends are mostly a mix of car people and hockey people. Some work people but I try not to spend much time outside of work with work people.

As I've gotten older I've also reduced who I actually consider friends to just close friends.

My friends who still love cars all live far away so we post things to each other on FB but I would love to have a good friend who I could debate NA vs Turbo vs Superchargers and increased toe vs camber. Most of my friends just ask me why their car is making a funny noise and if I can fix it.

Hm... I guess, I'm luck that most of my friends are car freaks.

When I need to fix/tune my car, most of my friend come down to help. Even one of my friend's fiance, she get down on the ground pulling the exhaust out (last yr w damn tranny fork bust into 3 pieces).

Of course, I do have friends that have no clue on car stuff, so they do text often to see what's wrong w their car. lol

I have two friends that i can think of that are still into the car scene. One is working on opening his own shop (too bad hes a Honda fanboy) and the other lives about 8 hours away now. The rest are more into cosmetics or just do not care how it looks for feels as long as it gets them from point a to b.

I only have one another true car buddy (drives a Viper [sex on wheels] and a sixty something Mustang droptop).

Most of my other friends know or like fast cars, but don't know much about how they work.

My buddy with a G37 coupe barely knows how to add air to the tires, lol.

The rest see cars as appliances...I feel so alone unless I'm on a car forum sometimes....:happy0180:
