Wheel and tire fitments, help needed please!
EDIT!
Original: I'm getting Yonaka spec 2 coil overs installed and wanted to know if anyone else has successfully gotten a wider wheel and tire to work with an inch or so drop. I would prefer no rubbing so it doesn't need to be too aggressive, but I would like to fill my fenders and give my car a nicer stance. I'm still in the learning stages so be kind. I would ideally like 18x8.5 in the front with 235/35 and 18x9.5 in the rear with 255x35. The offsets a local garage gave me was 45 all around. It left me with an inch gap in the fender upfront and a half inch in the rear. I am aiming for flush but can't seem to be pointed in the right direction. Please someone guide me!? Thanks all New: Same coil overs and drop but someone suggested 18x8.5 with 245/40 +35 offset up front and 18x9.5 with 265/35 +40 offset in the rear. Anyone have any feed back? To me that sounds like it would be interesting and snug fit. Thanks. Last edited by THE_FRS_KID; 05-06-2013 at 01:31 PM. Reason: Change in sizing |

You will be rubbing a little up front with the tire sizes you picked... Also, the stretch isn't the same on those two combos... If you do 225/35 up front it should clear and have the same look as the back...
Also with wider tires you will need to camber in 1 more negative degree to get the look your asking for... Hope this helps... I have a simili setup on mine.. but I have 19x8/9.5. Tires are 215/35 front and 245/35 rears

I read that wrong I thought you had 18x8 up front, my bad.... 235/35 should be fine on an
8.5 wheel

You shouldn't rub at all. I'm on 18x8.5 all around with a 225x40 in the front and a 245x35 in the rear. Plus I'm dropped nearly 1.5 inches. The only time I rub is if I hit a big dip in the road, but I'm just rubbing on plastic, so no biggie.

Great info! So are you saying I'm better off to stretch a 225 rather than use a 235? How flush are you and with which offsets?

![]() That's my car and how it sits now. My offset is +42 You can run a 235 and shouldn't have any problems, The reason I went 225 was because the tires I wanted only had that size at the moment. |
