Stivo Spoiler Experience?

EDIT: Please see post #21 for my personal experience

Just wondering if anyone could comment on the build quality, the fitment, paint quality, etc...I've seen some examples of why not to get this spoiler, but was wondering if that was just an isolated incident or if that's pretty much how they all are.

Saw this one yesterday, which is what is making me wonder:

Same here, to be honest. I wrote an email to cancel my order yesterday (had something else pop up unexpectedly, too, and could use the money more than a spoiler), but yeah...seeing that post really gave me reservations. Haven't heard back yet, so I hope it gets cancelled before the piece gets ordered/shipped because if it comes and looks like that I will be really upset. $350 may be cheap for some people, but spending $350 on something that doesn't meet your expectations is always going to put a bad taste in your mouth.

Yeah canceling mine... Will place order again when quality build has been fixed.. 350$ is not much but I expect more.. After wheel dude has great products and this won't stop me from ordering from them..

Not the first mention of fitment with the spoiler on this site. I was ready to order one and did some research and decided not to.

EDIT: Link to other I remembered reading. Dunno how much install comes into play but it should just drop into place.

Well, looks like my order went through even though I sent three emails trying to stop it...just didn't have a chance to get to the phone in time, unfortunately. I just hope the fitment is good on the one I get or I'll have to send it back. Can't put a piece on my car that looks like the one on the BRZ at that link.

Oh man, this is my greatest fear when it comes to aftermarket parts. Hopefully Wheeldude can get something sorted out and get a proper fitted one to customers who experience this.

I actually cancelled my SEIBON spoiler because they had fitment issues from other customers and SEIBON basically doesn't give a shit.

Ditto, except I never even placed the order. I had a slight error during checkout and didn't get back to it right away. Decided against it shortly after.

I'm going to custom mold my own spoiler when school is over.

My problem was that I couldn't get to a phone until too late...tried calling, but I was about a half hour too late (they were closed). Couldn't leave a voice mail because the inbox was full. I sent 3 emails throughout the day and a PM later in the evening, but never got a reply regarding what I had written (just automatically generated order status updates). I'm sure it was just an oversight, but now it looks like I'm getting the spoiler whether or not I wanted it. I just hope it fits, because if it doesn't, I'm really not going to enjoy the return process (just a hassle to ship something that size/shape).

Just as a note, I have nothing against WheelDude or his store/service. I should have done my research BEFORE buying the spoiler...that was my fault. I just really hope that the few instances of people getting ill-fitting pieces were an exception, and just a case of "people don't complain when things go right". We'll see, I guess...but I'm definitely not holding my breath (which is a shit feeling when you're spending that kind of money)

Wow, I didn't mean to cost Zoeb a bunch of business.. but I figured I owed it to everyone to post the issues.

I've been reading up on fiberglass and the idea of heating it.. It's a bad idea from what I can tell. Plus even if you could get some bend on the fiberglass, the paint and clear certainly won't bend without cracking.

I sent Zoeb a PM asking about his return or replacement policy. I really do love the design of this part.. so if he can get the factory to tweak the mold and make it fit better I'd be happy to have a replacement part.

We'll see what happens. I'll keep everyone updated.

Yeah I just recieved my spoiler from Wheeldude today, fitment is okay at best. looks good from a distance, but the corners hover above the body line cause they put a spacer material in the corners so that the 3M tape would actually contact the trunk. fr $350 I'm happy with it. Plan on getting a GT style wing for track use someday down the line.

What a bummer...great looking spoiler other than the fitment issues.

Exactly. I love the design. I originally wanted the 5-axis piece, but it was just a little too subdued to justify $450. Then I saw this piece and got really excited...just a little more aggressive and a little cheaper. I ordered it, then saw your post...then had something come up that same weekend, and now I'm having regrets on the purchase before even getting the piece

It's a copy of the TRD wing, in my experience aftermarket copies of OEM parts never fit that well.
