Super bright headlight modifications
I do quite a bit of night commute driving. KY has very little public lighting and there often aren't any other vehicles driving while I do so I find it pretty dark.
What headlight modifications are recommended for much higher output over stock? Not just the color of the headlights, but actual distance and luminosity? |

Did you join the internet without social or grammar skills? You aren't alone in that, but it doesn't contribute. In Australia the GTS spec (Higher specification) comes with HID lamps and you can pick up LHD specific versions of those from the vendors in the forums, other than that, I can't help much. |

Do a hid retro fit, it's a bi-xenon projector that really lights up the night.. Theretrofitsource.com has a quick kit that works great.. 300$ for everything or 150$ if you go else where to get you bulbs and ballast.. Tho morimoto kits are top notch.. Also so silver start ultra high beam bulbs work nicely, even better are the top of the line PIAA bulbs, but that's almost a retro fit kit at the 120$ I paid for my bike for two bulbs..

Someone is bound to tell you to remove the light enclosures and bake them open...

I'm in the same boat. i live in rural south Texas, so i need all the light I can get when driving down the backroads. I did this:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=664407 I also converted the high beams like the post states. I also added fog lights and converted them to H11 bulbs too, although they don't make much of a difference being so low. They mainly throw a little extra light to the sides, which is handy for seeing deer before they run out in front of you.
