MT, neutral 15-10mph slowing, ratcheting noise

My MT FR-s occasionally makes a ratchet like sound when in neutral gently slowing down at about 15-10 mph.
Not all the time, was quite warm at the end of a long day touring.
Sounds exactly like a ratcheting noise maker or holding the socket and twirling a ratchet wrench.

It always stopped making noise before the car came to a complete halt. 15-10 only.
In neutral clutch engaged (foot off the pedal).

Anyone have any idea what may still be hooked up with that scenario?
Can't think of any of my old tech drive train stuff that would do that.

What's Toyburo doing behind the curtains?

Turn off the A/C and you won't hear it.

I hear this sometimes as well. Was doing it frequently when it was new, at 10k now it's a very rare occurrence. Could be my mods though.

I've noticed the same thing, with and without AC. Seemed like chatter to me, which I thought was odd since the vehicle is stock.

Just picked it up a few days ago...does it go away?

Took me a while to get used to the injector clatter, and now this!

Driveline backlash? I know it's not the same car, but my STi sounded God awful sometimes.

Although, now that I'm thinking about it... in a neutral coast you wouldn't get a varying load on the driveline to induce this type of noise. Nevermind.

Ah Ha!!!

I did have the AC on!

Moving north now and had it turned off today. No rachet spinning.
WTF Toyota? Makes the FR-S sound like a peddle car on the boulevard.
Could be better.
