USB file structure and random play

In the manual it says, you can randomly play files in the folder, that you are currently playing a file in. So, with my file structure, one main folder titled "music", two sub folders titled "me" and "wife". Under that are sub folders by artist, and then album name.

It seems I can only randomly play either an album (folder) or everything (entire usb)? I was hoping to randomly play all of my music, and not have it play my wife's music, or all albums of an artist.

Am I asking too much, or am I missing something?

That is my experience as well.. random is either entire disk or just a single sub folder. The only 'workaround' I've found is have separate USB disks - one for me, one for my wife, one with kids songs when I'm driving with my daughter, etc.
