This vehicle has a REBUILT Michigan title due to a minor insurance claim.
That's why.

And if I'm correct isn't there a saying that goes like this: If its too good to be true, it probably is.

I wish there were pics of the engine bay and shots from under the car, cause I'm still interested whether it might be a good or bad gamble?

It might look good now but you will take a huge beating when you sell/trade the car. Also, having a salvage title it's way over priced.

I'm fairly certain that I saw pics of it on a salvage auction site (the link is down already). I think it was GBS in color originally, and had pretty severe front damage, with airbags going off, and many parts were stripped. It's sold by a Michigan shop that deals in a lot of Subaru parts and repaired-salavage STIs. I'd still avoid it.

Here's an example of what that shop starts with. This one was on the lot as red STI few weeks ago. Here's what that shop is currently selling looked like before.

"Minor insurance claim" I call BS. And what the hell is a Rebuilt title? No doubt a salvage title which supports the BS call.

I was considering getting a rebuilt title FR-S for about 16,500.
I would say if there's pictures of damage, repair documents, no frame damage, you aren't concerned with resale value/warranty, and you don't mind taking a gamble, go for it.

But if you have the money, I would just get one brand new with a warranty, no underlying problems, good resale value, no risk, etc.

Of course I'm assuming you already have a BRZ so this comment is mainly for anyone considering buying a rebuilt title twin.

lol, minor insurance claim doesn't turn into a rebuilt title. That thing was likely in pretty bad shape.
