Bolt Pattern Adapters
I tried searching but couldn't find any real answers.
How do you guys feel about running bolt adapters on a track for HPDE events. I have access to some 5x114.3 wheels and would like to run those for events but would need adapters. I'm thinking as long as I go with a reputable brand they shouldn't fall apart or anything. Is it more reliable to go with slimmer ones as opposed to larger ones? Any input would be appreciated. |

problem is they change the wheel offset and add weight and are not cheap. Better just to pick up some used rims that fit and sell the 114.3's.

Also remember that when you need to torque your wheels every couple session so if you run an adapter I would strongly recommend you remove the wheel and torque the adapter as well as the wheel.
I agree with groden 100%

I dont own any sets of 114.3, but have more than a few friends with multiple sets, being able to run those wheels gives me access to many different wheels.

We have a set. Depending on the wheels, you may or may not need to cut your stock studs so that the wheel can sit flush on the adapter.

KISS applies here. Will it work? Yeah, but you're adding complexity and another failure point to the system and then placing the system in a high risk environment. Does it still sound like a good idea?

Just get proper wheels. Buy the time you spend the money to make your friends wheels fit you could have bought half of a set of wheels that work.
