Did you take your car to a dealership for the chirping issue?

Looking for recommendations for a reputable dealer in the bay area who actually fixed the problem. Thanks!

Brought my car into Piercey Toyota (Milpitas).

They replaced the pump and some other parts with new items (new PN as well) free of charge, and the problem subsided for about 3K miles. However, the noise has returned and when i brought it in again it was deemed to be functioning fine and not worthy of replacement....Guess i'll have to rev the engine to mask the crickets.

I have used nothing but shell V-Power since I bought the car a year ago. Unfortunately it is not a cure all. P.S. - All CA gas has some percentage of ethanol in it, and that is one theory on the issue.

....but if they issued a TSB detailing the issue and provided a solution, how come that doesn't fix it?

Its the design and the materials used in the HPFP. I've had mine replaced once. The chirping starts up when i drive the car hard, like redlining it every gear. Havent had the chirping for 3 months and i started again when i kept redlining it over the weekend. But when i started it today, no chirping again.

It isn't a mechanical problem just an annoying noise. Don't waste time taking your car to the dealer.

Mine stopped chirping around 20K miles and has not started since. I never had any service done related to the mater.

Re~mix and JackSmiley I agree with. Shell's V-power works and Sunol's 94+ fuels. Chevron doesn't work on mine. I haven't touched anything else. Hard driving and ~quarter fuel also brings back my chirps. But goes away, almost like the car/fuel cools down before quieting the chirps. I've brought it to the dealer but nothing came of it...they know it comes back. So I just use Shell and keep it half full most of the time. That's my remedy.

I got chirping at 1200 miles and I've yet to take the car in. After researching it i've decided ima ride it out for awhile and hopefully later on down the road they change the parts in the pump or something. I'll save my warranty for that.

The cheapest Arco station is the quietest for me.

It's intermittent and not that bad, even when I can hear it from within the car with the stereo on I can live with it. There is no permanent fix at the moment and most dealers seem to be sick of replacing them and they're saying the noise is "normal".

I won't take it in until there's an actual issue.

Edit: ~7.8 k miles just did first oil change today, built 12/12.

Just as long as their service does not deal with the intake. That's what I was told so likewise, I can't get dealer service if it has anything to do with the brakes (SS lines installed, OEMs boxed).
