Tpms breaking with tire mounting

I am wondering how everyone is getting around this problem. I took my stock wheels to a reputable chain tire shop that I know does good conscientious work to have my Dunlop z IIs mounted. So far they have broken 2 tpms and they are not happy. They say the stiff sidewall pops the sensor off when mounting and dismounting. Are there any tricks to avoiding this? They were even trying to lift the bead by hand with their pry bar. Too stiff though. The tpms seem to be very brittle plastic to me and mounted right at the bead.

The shop I went to had no issues removing them from my OEM wheels and installing them on my 18x8s with Michelin PSS 245/35/18 tires. I don't remember them looking very brittle at all. I was watching him the whole time as well.

I had the local Firestone shop mount my winter tires on my stock wheels with TPMS left intact and they had no issues whatsoever. If those guys could do it, I'd think any reputable place could.

Sounds weird to me. I had one flat repaired (tire had to be dismounted/remounted) and 4 new tires put on my stock rims. No issues. Sounds like a crummy tire shop.

If they can't mount a tire without breaking a TPMS they are idiots. Its really simple to do. I was a tire monkey for 2 years and its a matter of positioning the wheel while mounting the tire so that when the top bead is being mounted it doesnt catch the sensor and snap it off. Those guys you are going to are noobs.
There is also no issue with the sensors they are the same material as all other valve based TPMS sensors.

Show this to those guys, this is the correct way to break the bead, dismount tire, and remount tire with TPMS. If they can't figure this out they need to stop working on tires. Period.

Thanks for all the input. It looks like it should not be an issue. Maybe I give the shop too much cred. So far I am up $120 on the transaction, hopefully that will be all. i will pass the info here along to the shop.
