First accident. Thank you deer.

So I'm on my way to the gym for pre morning workout and albeit I'm not fully awake. I had the track off out of habit. Was in the outside lane turning left and a fucking deer jumped out from nowhere. I swerved left then greatly over corrected right because I panicked. Fortunately I was only going about 25 when I hit the curb. Cosmetic damage is minor but I think I hit the rim pretty hard causing potential axle damage.... I drove to the gym and the abs was confused so I'm unsure if I should call a tow truck or just take it in myself. Such bull shit. I feel like an idiot to man just when I thought I was really good at not over correcting on shit like that. :-(

Sad to hear that, goddam deer!

I would get it checked out at some point ... i'm not sure if they'd let you claim it as comprehensive? No remains of the deer make them trust your word I guess.

As far as driving it right now ... Just keep in mind the risk you're taking, and see if the potential damage you could cause would be greater than the cost of a tow.

I fukn hate deers!

I remember i hit a deer in my integra. Because my car was lowered, he slid all over my hood. It was scary because it happened so fast. Apparently he had hoped over a fence next to the road. No one in the car saw him coming. I jus remember seeing fur, then big deer lookin me in the eyes with his tongue hangin out cleanin my windshield. My cars hood was all scratched up and the deer surprisingly got up and pranced away with my emblem.

Anyway, i hope everythings works out okay for you.

Be glad you're ok, it's hard if not impossible to evade a deer. Maybe it's not as bad as you think, get an alignment/visual inspection it might not be too bad.

Here's a funny animal/car video to cheer you up buddy!

Yeah deer have serious darwin issues when it comes to crossing roads. There are a ton of them in my area. I've managed to avoid hitting them so far (thank goodness our cars change direction so quickly). The only time I had an issue was when a deer HIT MY CAR. Stupid thing jumped into the side of my old car and left a deer head imprint on my rear quarter panel.

I hate deer with a passion. I'm not even actively in favor of hunting but I think people should be allowed to kill deer all year round. Living in PA it's tough to go a day without seeing one of these oversized rats.

The other day I drove my camry to work and in the morning I saw two deer on the left side of the road and as they distracted me their third bastard friend tries crossing right in front of me. I slammed the brakes and I swear I missed him by no more than a foot.

I know this is an easy concept to grasp but it's difficult to follow; if you're coming close to hitting a deer, just hit it. You may be worse off in terms of hurting yourself if you try to avoid it and hit something else. More importantly, if I recall correctly (hopefully someone can back me up), insurance companies will deal with it in a manner more beneficial to you if you hit the deer and damage your car versus you avoiding the deer and damage your car with say a tree.

Good question. I know a lot of folks do this.

It makes no sense to me.
