I want to get some more power out of my car, but I am well past the day of having ricer exhaust.
Can I get more power by running the mid/over pipe if I am not going to do the full exhaust? Same question goes for headers.
As for tunes, I am seeing pretty impressive numbers put down by tunes with pretty basic mods. What do these tunes do to the daily driving abilities of this car? And the gas milage. I get 31/37 and really don't want to give that up.

I just want to say if you are getting 31/37 why do you need more power? You drive like an old Granny!

Perhaps he drives responsibly but also would like a little more power.

I have to agree with OP. On the street I drive like a grandpa, very slow acceleration and consistently 5 miles under the speed limit on the highway, and in my STi I got the highway EPA rating in city driving. You still feel the difference in power, even in slow everyday situations, and then the track is another story altogether :-)

Good job everyone, 6 replies with nothing relivant to the question that I asked.
I get that gas milage because I know how to drive the car correctly. If I want to speed and drive crazy I would have kept my 11sec mustang.
I love this car but the power, especially in the low revs, is pretty lacking and annoying.
I want to get a little more power out of the motor so that I can enjoy it more from day to day. I am also looking into doing a port and polish on the motor in the future, but want to wait until people get a little more experiance with the motor.

works midpipe adds 6hp and will bolt into your stock muffler

Changing the frontpipe and overpipe will give you more power as well

Most catbacks will not gain much. But if you get a header back setup with a tune, you should see noticeable improvements. BTW Use the search button. This topic has been beaten to death

Mid pipe and over pipe with cat delete give most power. To stay legal get one with hi flow cat. A tune should actually increase gas mileage in theory because it optimizes what is already there (unless your engine is running lean right now). Headers (from what I have read/seen on this forum) appear to give you the biggest torque increase in the lower revs. Take out your spare tire and all that crap if you want to "feel" a little more power.

Just keep your car stock and get a Visconti pump gas tune. By far best bang for your buck and wakes the car up the way no other mod will. Also keeps the car very similar economy/noise level. You can't go wrong.

The Perrin Resonated Catback is perfect. I hate drone. I hate rasp. I hate rice.

The PerrIn RESONATED Catback is quiet at idle and will not wake the neighbors in the morning. It does, however, have a nice growl when you mash it. Very solid piece with a great sound.

I've added the Perrin CAI to it and if I'm cruising by you might think I'm stock but if I got WOT there's a nice rumble/growl that is not deafening.

IMO the sound is perfect.
