Insurance question with Cosmetic mods

Hi Do you guys know if insurance will have the right to not cover people who modify their cars Cosmetically only? Like if we have a hood or something swapped out etc..

They will usually cover the car if it's only cosmetic / wheels but may not cover their value in the case of a theft. If you have engine/power mods, they might and probably will not want to insure you, even if you disclose it.

I have liberty mutual and i just call in any mods i make to them. Example: i installed a Kenwood DNX6990HD head unit which was $1100 installed. I faxed my local agent the receipt and they added it to my policy. The policy in effect went up $2/month and it's now covered in the event of theft or total loss.
