Am I the only one who prefers Premium seats?

It's probably just me, but the material used on the seat/back section of the BRZ Premiums are what I perceive to be the perfect "racing seat" material. Nothing wrong with full leather or cloth, there's just something about the texture of this stuff that reminds me of certain styles of Recaros. It has the perfect balance between slip and grip. The only thing I would change is, I'd like to have the bolster section be leather instead of the felt-like stuff on there now. In other words...

Limited bolsters + Premium middles = PERFECT

I like them too, they are the same material that was on my last car so I'm really fond of them, same patterns and everything. Though similar I prefer the BRZ premium seat over the FRS seats.

What was your last car, Zaku? I had an '06 Ion Redline that came with Recaros that too were pretty close to the Premiums. That's probably why I like 'em so much, but I also have an aversion to anything with a knap, so Alacantara would have gotten the better of my OCD!

What are the FRS seats made of? Are the same felty/microfibery stuff on the Premium bolsters, except in two-tone?

I had an 02 Civic Si. And

very similar seats. FRS seats doesn't have the rough middle grey parts, it's kinda soft all around.

Oh okay, that's what I thought. It looks like the same stuff on Premium bolsters, similar at least.

You are NOT the only one. I bought the Premium primarily BECAUSE of the seats.
One, leather seats, when driving in the cold months, require, or a preference for, electric heating. With fabric the 'coldness' isn't so dominant. Also adds some, if not minimal, weight and additional 'stuff".

Two, In warmer months, fabric seats have a cooling effect whereas leather does not absorb the body moisture as much. (try wearing a leather long-sleeved shirt in the summertime).

Three, the fabric, as has been mentioned, 'holds' one better when turning.

Granted, the Alcantara, has fabric features, but looks and wears cheap to me but the BRZ fabric has that rougher, and more perceived 'tougher', more durable, appearance and texture.

Side note: Although the push-button start seems like a nice feature in the Limited vehicle, I have, in effect, opted out on all the 'computerized idiosyncrasies' that has been complained about so many times in this forum.

I've got the limited seats and I think the comparisons to "leather seats" are a bit off.

The bolsters are leather, yes, but you don't even notice it while sitting in the seats, it never gets very hot or very cold. The Alcantara covers the majority of the seat and has the same heating/cooling qualities of fabric, but actually holds you in place much better.

Alcantara will be equal to the Premium fabric in terms of wear. How it looks is a totally objective statement.

As far as "hold" goes, the Alcantara has really great grip properties and because your butt, legs and back are all attached to that the "hold" is likely just as good as the fabric seats.

I didn't care too much about the seats but it was the other options of the Limited that really drew me in. I'll also note that in the winter when it is near 0 degrees F outside, heated seats are great regardless of your seat material.

Could you explain why they are more durable?

Ain't nothing wrong with either, I like them both. I just like the heated feature, and all the other stuff that comes with the Limited.

It's perfectly fine to say, I like the way the premium seats look better. It's a completely subjective thing and people are going to have different opinions. The thing that gets me is that a bunch of people are just making stuff up about the durability of the limiteds, how hot they get, how much they grip you (seriously?).
