Spec C - California?

My BRZ is due to arrive at my dealership next week, and the salesperson emailed me their invoice on the car so that I could get a VIN number and all that stuff. It also has a list of all the color codes and port-installed accessories, but one thing stuck out for me.

There is a "Spec C - California" listed right after the paint and interior codes. I assume this is the California smog package, but my question is, do all BRZs have this California package or have I ended up with a car originally destined for Cali? I'm not sure if Subaru simply makes all US-bound cars to California smog specifications or not.

Cheaper to maintain a single manufacturing configuration than it is to manage multiple emissions configurations. They're all Cali-spec

I figured that, but then I also recall in the past that some manufacturers made different California-spec cars, way back when.

Thanks for asking; I had a BRZ on order that listed it, and I couldn't find an answer to this... Yes, I was too lazy to post a question. Or perhaps to fearful of getting flamed for asking a question that had already been answered...

Yep. All of our "Special" cars that aren't (can't be) PZEV are Spec-C=California.
They include: BRZ, Tribeca, WRX/STi, H6 Outback/Legacy and Forester 2.5XT. They "meet" Ca standards and can be sold natiowide without worries.
