Headlight shape
HI,
I am considered to put the eyeline on my BRZ (ex. Modellista) I sent an e–mail to vender. Most of them told me that will not fit BRZ, due to the headlight shape is different between BRZ and FRS. Can any people help me to confirm this? Thanks. |

Whichever vendor told you that obviously doesn't care about our cars enough to be worthy of your hard-earned cash, because they have no idea what they are talking about. The headlight housings are identical; do a little
and you'll see this has been discussed and was confirmed when the Twins first came to market. The only difference is on the BRZ the bumper covers the inboard corner of the light a little more than the 86/FR-S. But those parts you are talking about will fit just fine.

I think a difference would be signal lights.BRZ headlights include turn signals in the housing
The 86 headlights don't.

This is about the physical shapes, not features.

i know. But just something to consider since he may have to add signals elsewhere. sure the shape is the same, just an added thought.

The difference isnt the headlamp, but the front clip. If you look at the headlamp housing in the picture above, you will notice a line in the plastic near the inside angle (toward the middle of the hood area), that line is where the BRZ front clip covers the headlamp, and the FR-S/GT86 continues to the sharp angle shown in the picture.
Also, if you look at the brz headlamps on the subaru online parts store, you will see the full assembly looks the same angle wise, as the one above. Turn signals are included in the BRZ housing, and not in the GT86/FR-S housing, so relocation/wiring to the foglight area might be needed... |
