diss7's Toyota 86

I finally picked up my 86 yesterday. Ordered it 5 months ago! When I ordered I was advised 8 weeks, but because I changed my order from White to Black, I had to wait for the next shipment.

Initially I was a little peeved at the dealer, as they told me that had the car last Thursday and it just needed a grrom. Which took 4 days! But, when I went in yesterday that informed me that they were giving me 5 years free servicing, 5 years mechanical warranty + breakdown, and $500 towards TRD parts, for no extra cost, so I didn't have too much of a moan about the delay. I was actually more annoyed because when I drove past the dealer on the weekend I saw what I thought was my car in the showroom, but it turned out to be their demo!

My plates didn't arrive in time, so I just put the plates on off my AE86. Tnew 86 plates are the same, but with one more line.

Really happy with the car. Was going to put my Brides in it, but I quite like the seats so will probably flick the Brides on. The steering wheel is poos, and I have a spare Sparco laying around. Although I don't want a tacky boss kit runing the interior so have not made my mind up about that yet.

Wheels still haven't arrived, but shouldn't be too long. Damn sea freight.

Getting plenty of glares as I drive the car, its still fairly rare to see one in Christchurch. Both Toyota dealerships combined have only sold about 15.

Really happy with the look of the car. I ended up ordering a TRD airfilter, the TRD rear muffler mounted difuser, and the TRD petrol cap. That ended up being bang on the $500 they gave me to spend.
I was looking at a rear lip spolier from Wheeldude, but by time it was sent to New Zealand, import duties and things, it's actually cheaper for me to get a TRD one from the dealer. Sure, I don't like the idea of drilling into the boot, but I equally don't like the idea of a spoiler held on just with tape. So meh.

I don't mind the height of the car either. Sure it could be a little lower, but it almost seems lower stock than the USDM cars? Maybe I'm imagining that. I'll see what it looks like with the new wheels.

Anyway, very happy!

I was told it would fit, but after having a look under the car it appears you're correct. The tabs shown on the instructions above aren't present on the stock muffler.

Won't be hard to make up some tabs though.
