Wide Body Question; Wheels.

I am a noob but I was wondering, if you were to put a wide body kit like the rocket bunny or any other wide body kit what exactly do you do to make the tires flush to the body kit and not inside where it would normaly be.

Do you just get wider rims or is there something else you normally do/could do?

Is there anyway I can keep the stock tire and work some magic to make it work?

I wouldn't reccomend using the stock wheels with a wide body kit. This would require multiple inches of spacers to get to the edge of a wide fender.

Most of the companies running wide bodies are starting with a 9-10+ inch wide rim. This is at least two inches greater than the factory 7 inch rim/tire set-up. On top of that they are using spacers to get to the edge of the fender.

You also have to consider that people are tucking 9-10 inch wide rims under the factory sheet metal.

All of this work is just to make the wheels look flush right? Like I could actually still use stock wheels and be able to have full turning capabilities...it will just look ridiculous kind of thing

Yep. It's a form over function mentality. You are going for a "look" of stance, poke, tuck, hella whatever, etc..

The way that our cars are constructed allow us the ability to run very aggressive and functional rim/tire combos without having to run widebody kits.

In the past it might make more sense to put on flares or widebody's if you needed another inch or so of clearance.

Now days it's really just for the look.

Thanks, I am still pretty noob and wasn't sure if I got a wide body kit(like the rocket bunny) that the wheels would still have the same turning radius if I kept the stock rims...the rims will just look like they are really deep in there haha
