BRZ STI NA with more power

i just got a new information today about the BRZ STI -

hopefully with some more engine displacement.

i will get more news about engine, suspension, brakes and more monday or tuesday...

In some FA20 related news, according to Motor Trend, Subaru of America has just confirmed that the next generation Subaru WRX will receive a turbocharged version of the FA20 engine (from the BRZ, FR-S, GT86).

The turbo FA20 2.0L flat four motor will have a targeted output of 270 horsepowers.
They're already working on a turbo FA, what's the point of making the STI NA?

I think NA STI makes perfect sense, but I don't know if it will exist or not. The entire philosophy of this car revolves around balance.

THIS AGAIN?! seriously?!
the turbo engine is for the WRX!
they never said a turbo engine would be on the BRZ.
there is ONE magazine that said there would be a turbo
BRZ but it has been proven a lie.

Why not? You're comparing a AWD turbo sedan versus a RWD turbo coupe. They couldn't be more different.

Details on your source?

For what it's worth, staying NA is the only way I'd consider the STI version of the car. This car should not follow the normal subaru formula. Everyone wants a lighter and turbo STI which will never happen together. I want a NA, slight bump in power, big bump in suspension/handling and a nice chunk less weight.

How much more weight could they realistically knock off, 30-50kg?

IMO, I think the FA engine is detuned by about 20-40 HP. No way a car with this much technology and enhancements only gets 100 hp per liter. Toyota and Honda lift engines from more than a decade pulled off similar feats in the sports coupe segment.

Didn't they confirm next wrx has a coupe so rwd coupe versus awd coupe. But I haven't got any info from Japan at all from Subaru, and there was credit to my info in the past. When I helped with tms news.So take it with a grain of salt. But I will check.
