SiriusXm - 4 more months of free Sat radio

I received a letter from Sirius a few days ago stating that since I may not have had traffic alerts during my original 4 month trial, they are giving me an additional 4 months free for the inconvenience. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on this in case you were wondering what happened to your sat nav traffic alerts.

SiriusXM is known for screwing up their subscriptions. I have it in 4 of my vehicles. I cancelled 1 subscription, but I still continue to get service. It's been over a year, and I've never paid a dime on it. I've even called a few times, because I didn't want to get billed for it.

My guess, is that after this 4months is up, you'll continue getting service for free.

I got that letter a few months ago and I still don't have the traffic alerts on my navigation.

I got a letter from XM about traffic alerts last week as well. I never use the feature, so I just threw it away.

If you have ever tried to call SiriusXM you get someone from India. After arranging for any changes you are then passed off to someone else to "authorize" the change who tries to upsell. I gave up on SiriusXM.

I got the letter as well - I have traffic nav until May. No Radio though, so looks like they only pushed the traffic subscription down.

Same here. It will warn me of upcoming traffic, but it will be clear for miles.

So is it safe to say that most of us don't care for traffic updates and just go with the flow? I never cared for it, but some of those satellite radio stations are entertaining. So if they're giving free service for that as well then that sounds like a win.

Their customer service is so messed up...they could not seem to understand the concept of "seasonal car" I wanted them to do 6 months with an automatic 6 month hold but was told I would have to call for the hold and then for reactivation. I just hung up...I'll call them when the car cover comes off and it leaves the garage for a Spring voyage.
