Suspension stiffening up?

I've noticed that the suspension in my BRZ has seemed slightly stiffer in the past month, with increased harshness over poor pavement. Some of my regular passengers have noticed this as well, and I'm wondering if this can be attributed to tires being firmer in the winter or just roads getting worse this time of year. I don't think I've blown a damper or anything, but it is a possibility. Has anyone had any issues with the BRZ's suspension bits?

It's probably the roads. A few freeze/thaw cycles really do a number on them. You don't really notice it until you get a car with a stiff suspension. It gets even worse in the spring as the roads thaw out.

That's the answer I was looking for, being in New England doesn't help either.

your suspension is also fluid damped.. colder means thicker fluid.. most cars feel a little stiffer when cold. Tires are also less compliant when cold (unless you're running winters) .. roads too.. but that's already been covered.

It's also possible the dampers are stiffer. Some damper oils thicken in viscosity at lower temperatures, causing greater damping force and a harsher ride quality.

My drive to work really has it's uncomfortable moments. But the roads in my town are more pothole than pavement.

Check your tire pressure..I notice that at 39 just too too harsh a ride. 34 better. 32 seems just right even when cold out and on poor roads. (32 is below the recommended 35 tire pressure however)
