Tire shop wants to argue... 18x9.5 +38 with 255's
Tire shop is really pushing me to get 245/35's for the rear, as the last car they tried 255's on rubbed when lowered (lower than mine will be)
WHeels work emotion kiwami 18x9.5 +38 on rear, they insist i will have rubbing issues if I go with the 255's. And of course they won't takem back if they do rub. The tire shop won't be putting them on the car and unable to check fitment. They will be just mounting the tires and I will then be dropping the tires/wheels off at my dealer for install on the car before i pick it up.. Just wondering if I should take the 'safe' route and go with the 245's? I wanted 255's as I don't want alot of stretch which may also make the ride more firm. Fronts it looks like 225/40 will be safe on 18x8

Checked your journal, looks like there is room, I am doing a similar drop to you on eibach pro kit. Those are grids in +38 on the rear?

Aren't these the same wheels? This is one of my client's car. I think that it had 225 or 235's.

They look the same yes, and people have been mounting everything from 225's to 255+ on 9.5's. I certainly don't want anything less than 245, preferrably the 255. I do not like the stretch look, or the harshness that can come with it.

I have 19x9.5 +43 on 30/265 tires on mine. They don't rub even when lowered. But they are flush with the fender on my current offset. Your offset is a little more aggressive, so it may have the chance of rubbing. Here's a pic of mine.

Ask them to put a used 245 or 255 tire on your rim and make your decision from there. Its not hard to quickly mount up a tire on a rim, should take 5 minutes at most.
