FA20club tune, cold start is... okay? It's still a bit of a bitch sometimes, but most days it's two cranks at most. Then again, here in Va Beach we've only had maybe two days that were sub-40. lol

I noticed Richmond has an E85 station at the Office of Fleet Management Services, however it is currently closed to the public. Yesterday, I emailed Michael Bisogno, Director of OFMS and he advised me that they are working on opening it to the public and expects it could be open in early 2014. I've pasted his email below.

Quote:
John,

We do still operate an E85 facility at our 2400 W. Leigh St. location but unfortunately It is not currently open to the public. We are working on making this, along with a future propane station, open to the public. There are a few operational and legislative hurdles we are working on. I expect that we should have an update on our progress early 2014 on making both of these available.
In the mean time i'm going to try and hit up some local stations to see if any would be interested in carrying it. Hopefully someone bites. I've gathered some good information on the costs of adding E85 fueling capacity to an existing fuel station (PDF) and the business case for adding E85.

I called and confirmed the Petersburg location is serving E85. I plan to fill up on my way down to VIR there.

Yep, both the Mapco in petersburg and colonial heights/chester have E85.

The petersburg location will require you to get on 85 for a few miles. The colonial heights/chester location is just a few miles north, however you don't have to get off of 95 to go to that one. I believe it's exit 61. Then it's just a mile or so after the exit. I use the Colonial Heights/Chester location and it always test at 87-92% based on my ethanol content test kit.

I'm bumping this almost 3 year old thread to see if anyone knows of more locations with E85 in the Richmond area.

http://www.afdc.energy.gov/fuels/ethanol_locations.html - this says there is one place in Chester and another in Petersburg. Is there anywhere else nearby that has it?

If there is, it's news to me. I wish there was a more convenient location, but I still make the drive down to chester occasionally when I want the corn.
