Car shipped cross country
I decided I would save the miles and gas money and shipped my car cross country. We are going to drive our SUV from San Diego to North Carolina though. Anyone else ever shipped their car?
I can't help but worry about her at night. |

Back in '96 my wife and I moved from Michigan to Arizona. We drove one car and had our Samurai shipped. I wasn't worried about it as it had become a work vehicle that we had towed behind our motorhome for several years when we had been full-timing. If there's no other option, what else can you do?

Why worry, just make sure your carrier is insured.

This past summer I paid $1200 to have my Porsche shipped from the dealership in an enclosed trailer. Pasadena, CA to Dallas, TX. Well worth the piece of mind.

I flew to Lawton, OK and drove her from the dealership all the way down to Austin - best road trip ever. (Though not nearly as long as yours) |

Well, I don't have experience, but I will have experience after next week. I'm relocating to NoCal, and my new company is using http://www.reindeerauto.com/. The move coordinator said they have had nothing but good reviews of them. I don't know how much the open carrier cost is, but it cost me $380 to upgrade to closed container shipping. They guarantee delivery w/in 14 days of pickup. Hope this helps.

Why not put it on a trailer and buy a car cover? If you are driving an SUV already, there shoudln't be an issue pulling your car.

I have always flown to where I am going and drove it back even when it was 3500 miles.
Consider it.
