IMO, 6k is hardly blue. More like a super bright white than anything else. You'll only notice the blue if you're looking for it and you're in the know.

Here is my 6k and 5k.. Remember some cameras pick up the blue more then others and some manufactures have different colors all together

Close enough.. Again.. Some manufacter colors are off to others.. Brand A 6k might be closer to brand B 5k or vise versa.. I couldn't see as good with 6k.. That's why I went to 5k.. But the DDM 6k is close to the color of my switch backs..

That 5k I have is just about pure white.. It's morimoto from the retrofit source.. The DDM is a slight blueish

http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/show...bout-HID-bulbs

A ton of good info there.. And through out that site.. I think this is the article about how the lumens change with temp of the bulb.. And that while some people can't tell a difference with 400 lumen difference.. Others could.. For me.. I lost depth when I was running 6k... BUT it was also in the factory projector.. I hated it.. I couldn't see at all.. And my commute at the time was one way in the middle of the desert at night.. I couldn't run high beams because its the only road in and out of post.. So I went with the retrofit and its worth every single penny.. It really is.. It looks like I can see for ever now and with the sharp cut off not blinding a soul.. Good thing is.. Bulbs them selfs are pretty cheap.. So buy your 6k kit.. Then pick up another temp like 5k or 4300 and see what you like best..

no, 4300k or 5000 (depending on bulb maker) are the ideal k temperature for distance and light output. 5000+ just goes bluer and into purple/pink the higher you go

HID drop in's just literally get installed where your factory bulbs go in (long debate about drop-ins aside)
Switch backs literally just install where your old turn signal bulbs go in
LED resistor for switch back simply gets plugged in where your old turn signal resistor was

3. very easy steps

as for parts, go to the vendor forums for external/lighting parts and
