Rebadging Help!

Ok I know how to debadge and it is really easy but no one really goes into details about the prep for rebadging. Do you want to clean and rewax that part of the car after debadging and then apply the new badges or is it better to strip all the wax off to have the adhesive have a better grip? Help.

I used dawn to remove the wax in the area when I installed mine.

So it is recommended that the wax be stripped away to have a better bond?

Yes.

If you stick to the wax and the wax doesn't stick to the car.... Well, you see the problem here.

I used goo gone to remove the adhesives from the scion badges. After you get all the gluey stuff off, just wipe it clean, do not rewax or put any detailers on, and put the new badges on.

After it has been on the car for a week, wash, wax, detail, and enjoy

Its important that after you remove the adhesive that you polish, as its highly likely there will be marring and haze. The adhesive remover will any waxes that are in the area as you wipe down. A 25/75 IPA to distilled water spritz will also clean up the paint well enough to then apply waxes.

Cheers,
GREG
