Question?

My car has the CEL light and a bunch of other things (tailights, chirp)... which are all on back-order waiting for full replacement.

I have a loaner car which I use back and forth to work... along with my FRS which I refused to have sit at a dealership lot (in my garage)

You think it's safe to drive the FRS with the CEL and SL light on? Their ordering a new ECU for it.. But this is my weekend off and I would like to drive the FRS around. I know the car is in "safe mode".. barely accelerates like normal.. but would you drive it anyway?

Yea/Nay?

There's always a value/cost ratio involved with anything. But in this case scenario ask yourself, would you rather risk further damage which could potentially exceed the warranty limits or have patience and have it fixed with no risk at all involved? Use your common sense, you shouldnt be asking us.

I know but damn! It sucks not being able to drive it. I'm stuck in a Toyota Corolla (at least they gave me a loaner and let me take my FRS home until the parts arrive).

I guess I'll just park it.. I spun it up today after sitting five days in the garage though. I might be waiting months for all this backorder BS to come in

Ouch, thats punishment? Thats my DD, if you know what the car is built for you'll understand how to have fun in it. Enjoy the FWD and the HP for what it is because quite honestly that car is much faster than some older cars on the road. Use this as an experience to humble yourself and further appreciate the twin once she comes back to you in full health.

You must have a V6 Corolla or something... it's slow as all hell. I haven't "punched it".. but driving as I do with the FRS it's night and day. (And I'm not an A'hole who dogs out rental/loaner cars)

Main thing with the Corolla is I feel like im in a huge bubble. Way to much room.. windshield is just.. out there lol and it looks like a pos to me IMO.

Oh one thing I did notice after looking at the loaner Corolla.. I popped the hood and it must weight 50lbs more than the FRS

On a side not, I've tested the Average MPG.. I'm hitting 34 or so with Corolla (normal driving)... My FRS is around 33... Kinda laughed at the dealer guy who said you will get much better mpg (minus having to use Premium)

If you're getting 33 in your frs I'm surprised you can tell the difference between it and the Corolla... You must be p*** footin in that frs!!!

Should get them to talk to the guys in Aus (Australia) re the CEL

Had mine "fixed" in a couple of hours.

Yea man, the short answer is no. With the dealership knowing your car has problems if something else happens I wouldn't put it past them for blaming you on negligence. Then your warranty would be worthless.

Thats worst case scenerio...
