GT86 vs E30 M3 vs DC2 Type R
![]() FT86CLUB Homepage Featured Story I saw a thread a few months back about this, but the full version is now online (sorry if it's alrd been posted): http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/carg...nd_bmw_m3.html A great comparison, I think its analysis of the GT86 is spot-on. Quote:

Question for the forum members in the uk or europe: are type r integras amongst the most stolen performance cars over there? the nj/ny metro area, parking a real type r on the street would be like leaving a bag of cash on the curb

Heck thieves will just as quickly boost a GS-R masquerading as a Type R. I thought years later demand would die for it, apparently not.

My 86 seems like it wouldn't get stolen where as I was paranoid with my Type R.
The only trouble is, I am more worried about my 86 being vandalized, dinged or keyed than I was with my Integra. It seems like when you can only own one car, you just can't win

Yeah I never understood the hype to steal those cars at all. I can understand stealing a NSX now.

People steal them and either sell the parts or put the parts in a civic then sell the civic for thousands more than it was worth. I remember seeing stock EG hatchbacks back when I wanted one to DD get purchased, and then 1-2 weeks later posted elsewhere full of ITR parts for 3x what the car was bought for a few weeks before... most likely built with stolen shit.

My brother got his type r jacked a few years back at the san diego fair grounds.. I guess even taking the steering wheel with you isnt enough to keep your car from getting stolen.

I must have had good luck. I parked my genuine JDM DC2R anywhere and had no issues with getting stolen, break in etc.
Other people i know had their badges and seats stolen. |

Here in Finland it's extremely rare to see any Integra Type-Rs on the road due to their immense popularity as group N rally cars. So basically they all have been gutted of their interiors already.
![]() Same thing has already happened to the AE86 and KP62 Starlet (for group F). |
