Has anyone run wires through doors?
I did a search but couldn't find anything regarding running wires through doors, I tried to run some 16 gauge speakers wires through the grommets and it goes in about half way then gets stuck , it gets stuck no matter which end I go in .
How did you run it?? |

First, I loosened the bolt on the connecting rod that stops the door from opening too much.
Then I pulled the grommet off of both the car side & door side. I then found a thick braided steel cable (kinda like a brake cable off of a bike), but I was prepared to use a coat hanger wire. I used masking tape to tape the end of the speaker wire to the cable. Then I slathered Vaseline all over that masking tape. ... after that, it was fairly easy. - push through car wall, pull slack into space between car & door - push through rubber boot - push through opening in door (which goes into rubber sleeve) - carefully cut slit in sleeve in door area for new wire come out. Hope that all helps.
