Any good stereo installers in NY area that have worked on the frs?

Looking to upgrade/replace my headunit and add reverse backup camera option (the type of camera that looks closest to stock camera type units.. Not the cameras built into license plate holders.

Anyone work with a good reputable reasonably priced installer in the NY area that both sells the products and installs?

I got my nav system installed at Avenue Sound on Sunrise Highway, Freeport. They've done almost all my stereo/electronics work on all my cars and always do a great job and give fair prices

Hey butters,

Do u mind if I ask what headunit they installed for u?
What tabs did they use ? Metra? Beat sonic?
Did they have the radio kit, wiring harness, all necessary stuff to install?

Did they damage the dash pieces? Or was it a clean install?

Did u go with rear camera?

I got the kenwood dnx6990hd. They used the metra double din kit and metra harness and they usually have it all in stock. Came out perfect, never had any issues with them concerning damage of any sort. No backup camera for now but they do have small standalone units from alpine and other big names. Theyll let you know where the best place will be to mount it with minimal if any modification. Just ask them to go over placement of cables and whatnpt before they start installing. I had the stock usb assembly popped put (its just clipped in) and pulled the new usb and aux cable through that space

I left the speakers/amp stock for now since this particular nav system has higher voltage output and higher RMS power than most units. Most put out 14-18 watts RMS while this guy puts out 22 watts. That, combined with all of the audio options it lets you play with makes the stock system sound pretty good.

BTW, The little white spots you see around the plastic parts aren't scratches. It's just dust and light reflections

on MTV.. was pimp my ride which was West Coast Customs.
Then pimp my ride was done by a shop called Gas.. which i think was still in CA.

The only shop that i remember on tv "Unique Whips" (on Speed Tv if i remember correctly) here on long island was Unique Motorsports owned by Will Castro but i heard they were outrageously overpriced
