How many of the STI parts will come on the new STI?

I'm planning on doing an OEM STI parts build on my BRZ. I know that it would likely be cheaper to buy an STI once it comes out but by the time that happens I'll A. Have some STI parts on the car, B. Know how those parts were installed and what changes they make over a stock BRZ. I think this path is much better than just buying a car out of the box and not fully understanding what all the upgraded parts do. It also gives me an excuse to work on my car and get to know all the in's and out's of it's build.

I've always been a fan of the WRX + STI parts builds that I've seen and I didn't want to wait on the STI version before getting my hands on this car. That said, I'm wondering how many of the STI goodies usually make it onto the STI versions of the previous Subarus?

I know it's usually brakes, springs/struts, strut tower bars, sway bars, and end links (aside from motor changes). Not sure about all the other stuff. Any input is appreciated.

How will you have STI parts? the STIs don't ever use the STI optional parts, like the pink springs or strut bars

I don't recall any Subaru STI that had upgraded end links.
Lateral links were different, but not the same as the STI aftermarket bits, but BRZ doesn't have lateral links
Springs & Shocks were different, but were different from STI pinks
STI had bigger wheels
STI had 5x114 instead of 5x100
Seats
Steering wheel
Gauge Cluster
Fender badges
Exhaust
Exhaust manifold
Harder bushings

Ahh, that makes sense. I guess I was thinking of the STI branded stuff as stuff that would show up on an STI. STI being the tuning house for Subaru I assumed that an STI version was like a Mugen version from Honda.

I know that some of the JDM models come on the pink springs, so I assumed that some of the STI parts on the USDM version were from STI directly.

Thanks for the info!

I think if you are coming from the Honda world it's kinda like how an Integra GSR and Type-R have differences between them and Mugen would make parts for both cars, some will fit both and some will be model specific.

Right on ZC6.

OP, the USDM STi cars never came with the SPT or STi advertised upgrades like oil caps, strut bars, exhausts, etc etc. Instead they had the "regular" OEM STi factory parts if that makes sense.

So if/when the STi BRZ comes to the USDM you might see mostly all new STi parts on that version of BRZ.... Different from a lot of the STi parts you are seeing now that are mostly show with no go.

So if I was you I would wait until the real STi is released and then decide on what parts you want. Unless you really really like the STi parts out right now.
