To be or not to be: Volta vs FT-HS
Toyota never has been a company to make frivolous concepts. They usually bring most of their concepts to production sooner or later. That being said, two recent exceptions have been the Alessandro Vota and the FT-HS. Both V6 electric hybrids, similar performance specs, but wildly different in execution and design. If the where to bring one out, at similar price points (Say $45k) which would you prefer?
Volta: Mid engined V6 Hybrid, (Electric)awd 400hp 0-60: ~4 secs Seats 3, adjustable driving position (left, right, center) vs FT-HS Front engined V6 Hybrid 400hp 0-60: ~4 secs Seats 4, trick convertible roof converts it to a 2 seater Volta ![]() ![]() ![]() FT-HS ![]() ![]()

Hm... that's hard one. FT-HS has cool convertible concept, yet Volta had awesome chassis concept too... at the same time, FT-HS & FT-86 looked the same. Volta has fugly interior... in the end, I voted on Volta. If they make Volta, I'm more interested to see how Volta perform over FT-HS perform.

I prefer the lines of the FT better but I would have to give in to the mid-engine Volta.

FT simply for the fact that I would never want those played out Lambo doors.

I'd take a Volta with the FT-HS interior and Wheels, and a 3.5 instead of the 3.3 V6

But yeah, FT does has nice interior for sure. I don't mind the Volta's wheels. |

Not particularly for the extra displacement, but the GR engine is superior in most ways to the MZ engine. But yes, displacement does matter, and you'd be surprised what .2L can do. |

Not too knowledgeable on GR or MZ engine, so I have no clue, BUT I know from experience that .2L can make a difference.

As much as I love the FT-HS (and am happy to see elements of its design in the FT-86), I'd have to go for the Volta.
