Wheels and tyres

Looking at changing wheels and tyres, current have the 16" OEM and want to go 18" or 19"

I have read through the detailed listing on the forum, however it does not indicate what is the best size rim and tyre to use, without making changes to the car.
Any advice on what size can fit the 86 without any further modifications or what modifications would be needed.

Thanks

What is also important to consider is the offset of the wheel. Anyone have an idea of what we should go for? I have heard a 35 offset will work.

So far I am picking up 18" 8.5 +35 to +45 rims with 235 to 245 tyres, on stock suspension no modifications.

I wouldn't want to go wider than 215, else it would probably kill all the fun.

I agree...I had some fun this morning around a few bends and too much grip would definitely spoil the fun.

I am running 18's with a 38 offset in the front and 35 in the back no touching issues. They wrapped in 225/40.

Went down to TWT, interestingly enough, they recommend I stay on the 16", changing the wheels and tyres would be purely cosmetic and a lot of money for cosmetic......

Salesman fail. I'm sure at least 95% of the wheels they sell are for cosmetic purposes.

How many people actually look at the weight of the new rims they want to fit?

Here's a fun page for would be wheel buyers - all in $ but at least you'll get an idea of how they'll look on the car.
