Greddy SP Elite axle back-any negatives?

I hate to start another exhaust thread but my previous request did not generate much in the way of reply's.

Looking to get an axle back for my BRZ. I'd like some more aural enjoyment. Not really interested in going the cat back route hence the axle back info request. So...anyone have an feedback on the Greddy SP Elite or other axle backs?

Thanks again!

I've got it and love the sound and looks. It adds a deep, sporty note that's not too loud or overbearing over your music or engine noise which is exactly what I wanted. Watch through this video if you haven't already. It helped me make my decision:

I have it as well, and it is perfect for someone who wants a quiet alternative to all the super loud exhausts out there. Idle and at speed sounds like stock, until you step on it... you'll have a low grumble.

What happens when you decide you want a catback? As far as I know nothing bolts up to the SP Elite. I have been wrong before...

It's a nice item don't get me wrong but I think it really limits your future plans unless you go custom for the mid section of the exhaust.

For $600 you can bump up a $100 more and get the Q300 which sounds great and isn't loud. You could also get the Perrin for a bit more or our V1 exhaust. Borla, Magnaflow, etc... so many options that are just not an axle back that complicate your upgrade path.

I'm just about certain that I will not think of going beyond an axle back. I know that the cat-back systems net a bit more power/torque and perhaps a better sound...but all I want is to improve the sound quality. Just hoping a Greddy Elite SP gets me a bit deeper sound with minimal or no cruise drone.

That said I really do appreciate your concerns.

Hearing both, I can tell you the Q300 from Invidia offers no more sound, or drone than stock. Promise. Plus gets you more than just a muffler that Greddy offers in the Elite.

I heard from some member here that he is using a mid pipe to go with it.

as long as its bolts up in the stock form that Greddy uses, it should be fine with anything. Correct me if im wrong.

Get it OP, the axle back should be amazing, heard the exhaust versions on NA motors and turbo'ed its like a quiet rocket.

Im trying to order it within 2 weeks time.

Is the Q300 the most silent exhaust you have seen other than stock?
